"One rule for us, no rule for them": Fury as Greater Manchester Police tweet resurfaces amid Boris Johnson birthday party scandal

The public have been left furious after a Greater Manchester Police tweet resurfaced last night telling of a homeowner being fined for holding a child's birthday party in their garden.

In August 2020, GMP reported that they had been called to a house in Swinton where three families were celebrating a child's birthday party.

The homeowner was fined for breaking the lockdown rules that were in place at the time.

When it was first posted, the tweet received backlash from those who were against the restrictions in place.

But as further allegations emerged yesterday of Boris Johnson having a birthday party in Number 10 in June 2020, the tweet about the incident resurfaced and received further indignation.

The party is alleged to have featured cake, singing, M&S nibbles and up to 30 people indoors.

Many are calling for Johnson's resignation.

Twitter user HudgeFBPE simply replied to the tweet from GMP with: "One rule for us, no rules for them."

Amid the latest scandal Stuart Wilkinson wrote on Twitter: "This tweet has aged well hasn't it Boris? Hope you enjoyed your cake."

Another twitter user Dave Cunningham replied to GMP's tweet saying: "Any comment @BorisJohnson"

Another user sarcastically chimed in saying: "Shame it wasn’t in the Cabinet Room, it would have been OK then."

David Cunninghmam replied to GMP's tweet calling Mr Johnson's position 'untenable', they said: "Contrast No.10s behaviour with this. Their position is simply untenable."

Also replying to GMP's tweet from 2020, Bill Heywood said: "Meanwhile in the real world, the rest of us faced being fined by the police for doing what the PM was doing in No10"
