NEW DELHI: Indian spin veteran Ravichandran Ashwin recently commented on the bowling action of Sri Lankan and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Matheesha Pathirana, highlighting concerns regarding the strain on his back and the awkward positions he tends to adopt during his bowling action.
Despite being just 21 years old, Pathirana emerged as a standout performer for CSK in their triumphant campaign last season, claiming 19 wickets at an impressive average of 19.52. However, his progress was hindered by a hamstring injury sustained during a recent T20I against Bangladesh. With 12 ODIs and six T20Is for Sri Lanka under his belt, Pathirana has shown promise on the international stage.
