One person dead and two rescued as paddleboarders get into difficulty

A paddleboarder has died after getting into difficulty off the North Wales coast.

Police were called at 10.14pm on Thursday (July 14) to reports that a group of paddleboarders were in trouble in the water off Conwy Morfa. A major rescue operation was launched, as police, coastguard, ambulance crews, an RNLI crew and the Coastguard helicopter attended, reports North Wales Live.

Three people were rescued from the water, two of whom were taken to hospital for treatment. However, North Wales Police confirmed on Friday that one of them has died.
