In recent years, Moza Racing has become a mainstay of the sim racing market, but it's never brought its wares to a PlayStation platform before, until now. Via the Gran Turismo news blog, an announcement has been made about Moza joining the GT World Series as an official peripheral partner.
Moza has become known for making some of the best racing wheels on PC and the best Xbox steering wheels, especially thanks to their great value for money and modular designs. As part of this new partnership with Polyphony Digital (and by proxy, Sony), the brands will be collaborating to produce an officially licensed, Gran Turismo-branded sim racing wheel controller.
Moza's existing racing kit is all PC-focused, but it does offer some of the more affordable wheels in this space. Starting from sub-$150 budget options and generally capping out at the $400 Moza R5, there's a good spread of price points to choose from.

Interestingly, there hasn't been a mention of pedals or peripherals like gear shifters and handbrakes, but it may well be that compatibility will exist for existing Moza accessories once a wheelbase and wheel have the correct protocols.

We've previously reviewed the Moza R12 and Moza R3 bundles, and we're big fans of their open, modular designs that let you upgrade them regardless of your initial investment. Moza has a solid selection of DirectDrive, Force Feedback wheels, but also loads of ways to customize your setup to lean into the niche of sim racing you like best.
Perhaps most importantly, Moza charges super reasonable prices for its bundles when compared to Logitech, Fanatec, and even Nacon's relatively new Revosim brand. Since sim racing can have weighty setup costs, that could be massive for PlayStation gamers who have never typically been able to afford the best specs.
Something I always respect about Moza wheelbases is that they tend to have compact sizes too, which is always a boon for people who don't want it to be a mainstay on their desks. Storing away or bolting one to a desk is a lot more of an inconvenience if it's a bulky size.
I, for one, hope we see Moza hold true to its value price tags, as this is one of the best draws to them on Xbox and PC against the rest of the market. That said, as we know from the rest of the best PS5 controller pantheon, price tags and licensing on this platform tend to draw a high price.
There's been no time frame given for the arrival of the new wheel, but licensing for controllers can take years to implement properly. From the sounds of this announcement, it seems like Moza and PlayStation have been in talks for a while already, so hopefully it won't be that long.
Talking to Traxion, Moza supplied a statement saying, "Moza Racing looks forward to sharing more in the coming months as it continues expanding its ecosystem and delivering new experiences for Gran Turismo players worldwide. This is only the beginning, with more exciting announcements to come.”
