A mum described as "one of the best people you will ever meet" has died after a cancer diagnosis.
Marie Carden was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and recently died at just 57 years old. Following the news of her death, MSB Solicitors has paid tribute to the much-loved mum-of-one from Kirkby.
A spokesperson for the firm told the ECHO: "Following invaluable work in the Probation Service, Marie joined MSB Solicitors in 2013 and was a fundamental part of our Commercial X1 Team in its infancy. Her array of talents were further demonstrated when she moved seamlessly into our Family Department, and she remained an asset to the firm, even after the discovery of breast cancer.

"Such was her temperament and constitution, it was no surprise how well she bore the burden, the treatment, and the uncertainty that attends every such diagnosis.
"Countless colleagues have each exchanged memories of Marie since her death; one describing her as '…a feisty bundle of fun and mischief. She was also one of the best people you could ever meet, who had your back, and was such a loyal friend to her many friends'.
"We hope the huge esteem that she was held in at MSB may be of some small consolation to her family.
"She gave fully of herself to whatever presented itself and highly valued the gift and joys of life but above all things else, we knew that nothing was dearer to her than her dear daughter, Leah. It was her bright future and happiness that she strove, ceaselessly, to shape and nurture with each and every day they shared together.
"Marie’s example, influence, and life, albeit too brief, will, we trust, stand Leah in good stead in the days, months and years ahead. A remarkable woman, colleague and Mother, much admired, and now missed, by us all."
