Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has heaped praise on Everton loanee Tom Cannon for his performance during the Tigers' 0-0 draw with Preston North End on Saturday afternoon.
Cannon, who was handed his Premier League debut by former Blues boss Frank Lampard earlier this season, joined Preston in January on a loan deal until the end of the campaign.
The Republic of Ireland youth international started Saturday's outing at the MKM Stadium and although Ryan Lowe's side were unable to find a way past their Championship counterparts in a game that eventually finished goalless, the Blues loanee proved to be a handful for the Hull City defenders to deal with.

Speaking after the game, Rosenior, who was appointed manager of the Tigers back in November, labelled the 20-year-old forward as "outstand" and admitted he was one of the toughest marksmen his side have faced in the Championship this season.
“I thought Tom Cannon was outstanding, one of the best we've played against by far," said Rosenior. "Alfie Jones and Sean McLoughlin, with the way we play, I trust them to deal with that. When you're that much in control and dominant, the manager of the opposition is bound to change something.
"For us both being negative teams, them making a double change at half time tells you about where the game was. They responded really well, had a 15 minute spell which we saw out, and then for the next 35 minutes we just didn't have that last bit.”
Cannon is yet to score in any of his first seven appearances for the Lilywhites across the league and FA Cup but has impressed his manager Ryan Lowe, who said on Friday it would only be a matter of time before the Everton loanee finds the back of the net on a regular basis.
“It is a matter of time,” said Lowe. “I’m going to do some work with Liam and Tom and all the strikers tonight (Friday). In terms of some video stuff, we can look at one or two areas where they can get better and get hold of the ball a little bit better because they’ve turned the ball over a little bit.
“But that’s part of their development and they know that, which is a good thing, so we’ll do some work with them tonight on the TV in the hotel and we’ll discuss one or two options."
