One lengthy development, cancellation, and revival later, Hytale devs "couldn't be more excited" to release the sandbox RPG: "We get to press the button we've waited 10 years to push"

Hytale's developers are reminiscing about the game's development as it's finally set to release after 10 years of work.

Hytale had a rough time; starting in 2015, things were looking good, with a sale to League of Legends and Valorant developer Riot Games. However, soon after developer Hypixel said it was rebooting the entire game, and after many years of development, the game was abruptly canceled and its studio was closed in the middle of 2025. But thankfully, before the year was out, Hypixel founder Simon Collins-Laflamme acquired the game rights, with plans to release it into early access as soon as possible.
