One person was killed and several others, including security personnel, were injured in a communal clash in Nepal's Sunsari district along the India border, prompting authorities to impose indefinite restrictive orders in parts of the district from Monday.

According to the District Administration Office in Sunsari, the prohibitory orders came into effect at 7 am on Monday and cover five market areas in the Koshi Province district. The restrictions will remain in force until further notice.
The prohibitory orders ban gatherings of more than four people, as well as demonstrations, public meetings and sit-ins in the affected areas.
A verbal altercation between members of the two religious groups escalated into violence, prompting security personnel to intervene.
The violence broke out on Sunday night in the Kaptangunj area of Devgunj Rural Municipality after members of two religious communities, who were holding separate events, clashed over the use of loudspeakers and the display of religious flags, police said, as cited by PTI.
As security forces intervened to restore order, they opened fire, killing 24-year-old Om Prakash Mehta.
More than a dozen people, including security personnel, were injured in the clashes, according to police.
Authorities said anyone violating the prohibitory orders could face a fine of NPR 500, imprisonment for up to one month, or both.
Sunsari district, located in southeastern Nepal, shares a border with the Indian state of Bihar and serves as an important transit and commercial corridor between the two countries.
