One in four Britons now say they are disabled, figures show

A quarter of Britons now say they are disabled, fuelled by an unprecedented crisis in mental health caused by the Covid pandemic.

Two million more people claim they have a physical impairment or severe mental health condition that has "substantial" effects on their ability to function in daily life.
