Tributes have been paid to a young Scot who tragically died after his car collided with a lorry.
Peter Ross, 29, passed away in the horror crash on the A78 in Troon, Ayrshire, around 12pm on Thursday.
Steel erector Peter, who worked for J&D Pierce Contracts Ltd, was fondly remembered by heartbroken pals who described him as "one in a million".
Friend Aidan Wright said: "Was absolutely gutted last night when I got the news. World's a cruel place.
"You always made everyone smile and laugh. RIP bro."
Brooke Spence wrote: "Heartbreaking hearing about Peter Ross, looking through our past messages and keep laughing, he just loved to wind me up! One of the nicest guys.
"Thoughts are with family and friends."
While Leona Barbour said: "Sad sad news last night. Totally heartbroken for Peter's family.
"Genuinely one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. As daft as a brush and would always do what he could to put a smile on everyone’s face.
"It was a pleasure to be in his company. Rip Peter Ross Will see you again one day."

Emergency services rushed to the incident on the A78 in Troon around noon yesterday.
The blue Ford Focus ST Peter, from Saltcoats, was driving collided into a stationary heavy goods vehicle in a layby, around half a mile from the Corraith slip road.
He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and the carriageway remained closed for several hours.
Inspector Greg Dinnie, of the Ayrshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with family and friends of the man who died.
"We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
"I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the blue Ford Focus ST driving on the road before the crash, to contact us.
"I would also appeal to any motorists who may have dash-cam footage to contact officers as soon as possible."
