In a study done by Mars Petcare, one in 10 pet-owning tenants are currently ‘hiding’ an animal from a landlord – with another quarter admitting they’ve done so in the past.
Broadcaster, cat owner and landlord Zara McDermott who has spoken about how much joy pets can bring to life. The study also found 37 percent haven’t asked their landlord if they can have a pet, due to being worried they’ll say no (24 percent) and being afraid of getting evicted (14 percent).
