Tragedy struck during Easter brunch celebrations at a Nashville restaurant as one person was killed and at least five others were wounded in a shooting incident. The suspect, who fled the scene in an SUV, remains at large as authorities continue their search.
Nashville police spokesperson Don Aaron described the incident as a targeted attack, with one individual pulling out a gun and firing multiple shots following an altercation with another man. The assailant, who arrived at the restaurant with a woman, quickly fled the scene after the shooting.
Five of the wounded victims sustained non-critical injuries, while medical responders attended to another person who may have been grazed by a bullet and a pregnant woman who experienced a panic attack during the chaos.
According to Detective Anthony McClain, surveillance footage captured the chaotic scene inside the restaurant as patrons scrambled to escape the gunfire. Despite some individuals attempting to confront the gunman, the situation escalated rapidly, resulting in tragic consequences.
Authorities emphasized that there is no apparent connection between the suspect and the victim, labeling the shooting as an isolated incident. In an effort to gather more information, police released images from the scene, including a photo showing an individual holding a gun and another of the suspected gunman seated at a table.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist detectives in identifying and locating the suspect.
