Nick Pope 8
A quiet night but another clean sheet after some commanding claims and quality distribution.
Kieran Trippier 8
An immaculate display on the right-hand side as he won all of his tackles and provided great service for his team-mates.
Fabian Schar 8
Shrugged off a couple of knocks to play his part in another shutout. Four aerial wins.

Sven Botman 8
Very tidy and showed his class with both feet. Still unbeaten as a Toon player!
Dan Burn 7
Was tested by Gordon but done well at left-back. A couple of important interceptions.
Joelinton 8
Played a part in the goal. Needs to be careful on a yellow card. Taken off at half-time.
Bruno Guimaraes 8
Champions League class throughout. Pinged it around for fun and weighed in with assist.
Sean Longstaff 7
Worked hard and made some important defensive contributions.
Miguel Almiron 9
Was running the show with a wonder strike and other chances before Onana's niggling foul in the back of the leg. At the centre of everything until that point. Taken off with 18 minutes left.
Jacob Murphy 6
A decent effort but not as effective as previous displays. Only a couple of crosses.
Callum Wilson 7
Effort can't be faulted. Put the yards in without reward and without a decent opportunity falling his way. Replaced late on.
Subs
Joe Willock 6 (for Joelinton 46)
Had a couple of efforts.
Elliot Anderson 7 (for Murphy 72)
Looked lively.
Ryan Fraser 6 (for Almiron 72)
Did OK. Got up after one brutal challenge.
Chris Wood (for Wilson 85)
