The Boston Celtics lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road in overtime on Monday night, with a final score of 109-114. T-Wolves guard Anthony Edwards had an impressive game, scoring 38 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists to help his ball club steal the game from a then-undefeated Celtics squad.
The Celtics struggled with their offense for the first time this season, shooting only 39% from the field and 28% from 3-point range. All-NBA Boston forward Jayson Tatum performed well, but the rest of the team struggled to generate good shots. The Timberwolves played excellent defense as the top-rated team in the league in that category, making it difficult for the Celtics to score from anywhere on the floor. Overall, it was a messy game for the Celtics, resulting in their first loss of the season.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast took a deep dive into the loss on a recent episode.
