On Ropar MLA's directions, PPCB issues notice against branded companies for not recycling waste plastic envelopes

ROPAR: On the instruction of Ropar MLA Advocate Dinesh Chadha, the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) has issued a notice against branded companies for not recycling the waste plastic envelopes.

He said that it is very unfortunate that reputed companies such as Kurkare, Lays, Surf-Excel and Rin Detergent etc. have been violating the rules of the government which are enforced to protect the environment.

"As per instructions issued for the year 2022-23, it is mandatory for the companies to recycle 70 percent of the waste plastic envelope, while during the year 2021-22, 25 percent of the plastic was to be recycled", said MLA Dinesh Chadha.
