Omkar Singh shot 583 in topping the 25-metre centre fire pistol event in the fourth National shooting selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Friday.
Omkar, who had shot 584 in the earlier trial, beat Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu by two points.
In the women’s air pistol, Rahi Sarnobat topped the qualifiers with 582 while most of the leading shooters including Olympian Manu Bhaker struggled to reach 570.
The finals of the air pistol will be held on Saturday, as the concluding event of the current series of selection trials.
The results: 25m centre fire pistol: 1. Omkar Singh 583; 2. Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu 581; 3. Udit Joshi 580.
