Omar Marmoush is the latest Manchester United transfer target as new boss Ruben Amorim looks to increase his attacking options at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese manager oversaw his first Red Devils game on Sunday as United drew 1-1 with Ipswich at Portman Road.
Amorim’s post-match pitchside interview was unintentionally interrupted by British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. However, the 39-year-old will be hoping for no similar interventions when it comes to acquiring new talent.
Eintracht Franfurt’s Marmoush is one of a number of players that Amorim is reportedly interested in. The Bundesliga star has scored 11 goals in as many games in Germany’s top-flight this season.
However, rivals Liverpool are also reportedly in the running for the Egyptian forward. Many have already dubbed him the ‘New Mo Salah.’ Ironically, he could potentially replace him at Anfield.
That is something of which Amorim will be desperate to avoid. Marmoush is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now with United keen admirers.
Who Is Omar Marmoush?
Omar Marmoush started his professional career with Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla in 2016. During his time with the club, he made 18 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals.
Marmoush moved to Wolfsburg’s reserve side a year later where he continued to hone his skills. However, he didn’t make his Bundesliga debut until 2020. The 25-year-old struggled in his three years at the Volkswagen Arena.
That even included two loan spells with St. Pauli and Stuttgart. He only scored a total of ten league goals during his time with both teams.
In 2023, a move to Eintracht Frankfurt materialised whereby he has become a goalscoring sensation. In particular this season. Amorim views the forward as the perfect signing to play in his trusted 4-3-3 system.
At international level, Marmoush has netted just six times in 35 appearances. Manchester United are expected to table a £50 million bid and also have their eye on Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Boniface, Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani.
