Everton reportedly had a January offer for AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud turned down after the Blues tabled a £120,000-a-week deal for the Frenchman.
According to Calciomercato, he is closing in on an extension with last season's Serie A-winner just a matter of months after the Blues were once again rebuffed by France's all-time leading goalscorer.
The former Arsenal talisman rejected a move to Goodison Park in 2017 and is said to have followed suit as they made a late move for the 36-year-old in a ploy to appease their striking issues. Throughout the campaign, they have been without Dominic Calvert-Lewin after ongoing injury problems and after the recall of Ellis Simms from Sunderland, alongside Neal Maupay, he became one of two attacking options.

In a report, the Italian outlet wrote which roughly translated to: "Olivier Giroud is very attached to Milan and he demonstrated it recently by refusing a very rich offer from Everton.
"The Toffees had put an 18-month contract worth 10 million Euros in total on the plate in the January transfer market."
The Blues made a late push for a forward in the final hours of the window ahead of their relegation push at the end of the season. Earlier in the month and under Frank Lampard, they missed out on Danny Ings and saw Tottenham Hotspur hijack Arnaut Danjuma's loan move.
Fellow strugglers Southampton swooped in to sign Kamaldeen Sulemana and Paul Onuachu who had both been linked on a manic deadline day.
