Olivia Wilde stumbles over dress at premiere amid Don't Worry Darling controversy

Olivia Wilde looked incredible as she took on the red carpet in a sparkling emerald green gown at the Don't Worry Darling premiere at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre during the 70th San Sebastian International Film Festival on Friday.

The director, 38, looked incredible but underwent an awkward wardrobe malfunction as she stumbled with her high heels catching on the train of her shimmering dress.

The actress needed to get help from a member of staff to ensure that she was firmly unstuck before she made her way inside. This stumble comes amid the press tour of the scandal-ridden film Don't Worry Darling.

Don't Worry Darling is a psychological thriller film that tells the story of housewife Alice Chambers whose husband Jack ( Harry Styles ) moves them to a utopian community for his new job.

Olivia plays the character of Bunny in the film, the best friend of Florence Pugh 's character Alice Chambers. Alice finds her life is turning upside down and starts to worry that her husband and his company are hiding awful secrets.

The star studded cast includes Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, Nick Kroll, Douglas Smith, KiKi Layne, Timothy Simons and Dita Von Teese. But despite the number of stars in the film a number of scandals have come to air in the press tour.

Olivia and Harry, who are publicly dating, have been promoting the film in a global press tour alongside Chris, Gemma and Nick but Florence, who plays the lead role of the movie, has been absent from the majority of the appearances.

She didn't attend a press conference for the film with it being alleged that her flight would land too late for her to get there but she was then seen in Venice nearby when the conference was taking place.

During the red carpet in Italy Florence seemed to keep her distance from her director with there being a rumoured feud between the two actors.

Rumours emerged following a leaked video from Shia LaBeouf who was previously attached to the film, where Olivia said that she wasn't ready to 'give up on this' and that "Miss Flo" could use a 'wake-up call'.

It was also reported that Florence didn't approve of the PDA between Olivia and Harry on set, with a source telling Page Six : "I can tell you for a fact that Flo seeing Olivia and Harry all over each other on set did not go down well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first hooked up with Harry."

Don't Worry Darling is released in the UK and Us on 23 September 2022.
