Olivia Newton-John's husband John Easterling has paid tribute to the "courageous" Grease icon following her death.
Grease legend Olivia, who played the role of Sandy Olsson in the hit movie, passed away peacefully age 73 on Monday August 8.
The actress and singer was surrounded by family and friends at her ranch in Southern California when she died.
Olivia's husband announced the sad news, which has sparked a flurry of tributes from stars and fans around the globe, on Monday evening.
Following the announcement, John has now shared a tribute to his late beloved wife – whom he married in 2008 – in another post on her Instagram page.
Plant Medicine Researcher John shared a throwback photo of the pair smiling and hugging in their younger years and wrote some touching words about his wife in the caption.
In an open letter to his late wife, John began with: "Our love for each other transcends our understanding. Every day we expressed our gratitude for this love that could be so deep, so real, so natural. We never had to ‘work’ on it. We were in awe of this great mystery and accepted the experience of our love as past, present and forever."
John then praised his wife Olivia, calling her the "most courageous woman I've ever known".
He continued: "At Olivia’s deepest essence she was a healer using her mediums of song, of words, of touch. She was the most courageous woman I’ve ever known. Her bandwidth for genuinely caring for people, for nature and all creatures almost eclipses what is humanely possible. It is only the grace of God that has allowed me to share the depth and passion of her being for so long. In her most difficult times she always had the spirit, the humor, and the will power to move things into the light.
"Even now as her soul soars, the pain and holes in my heart are healed with the joy of her love and the light that shines forward."
He then addressed those who had sent messages of condolence and tributes to the late great star.
"Our family deeply appreciates the vast ocean of love and support that has come our way," John penned before signing the message off with: "Onward Ho John Easterling".
Olivia's niece Tottie Goldsmith, who recently recalled her final goodbye with Olivia, called the couple "true soulmates" in the comments.
While fans commented with more prayers and condolences as one said: "I pray for you and your family [heart emoji] rest in peace."
"Such a beautiful lady and sweet soul .. she will be missed by many prayers for your family," a third penned.
Following the sad news, Olivia's Grease co-star John Travolta shared a heartfelt tribute.
As he shared a throwback photo of the stunning actress on his Instagram the Grease actor wrote: "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much.
"We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!"
