Olivia Attwood blames ITV producers for her 'drama' reputation on Love Island

Olivia Attwood has said producers only ever really showed her arguing on Love Island and has suggested that newer islanders haven't experienced "genuine" love on the show.

The reality TV star, 31, rose to prominence on the third series of the ITV2 dating series in 2017 - with her having been involved in her fair share of drama whilst in the villa.

She has however recalled that despite it looking like all she did was "scream and shout" whilst on the show, that wasn't the case - with her blaming producers for that perception.

"Someone said to me recently, 'Oh I bet you had a horrible time on the show because all you did was scream and shout'. And I know it may have looked that way," she said.

She said in a new interview with OK! : "But that really wasn't the case. Producers only ever showed my interesting bits and my arguments [...] when in reality, I had a great time."

The Only Way is Essex alum added that whilst she did clash with then-beau Chris Hughes, now 29, the former couple "also had many fun experiences" together in the villa.

Olivia - who reached the final with Chris - also appeared to suggest that islanders in more recent year don't experience the same "genuine love" that those on her series did.

She said: "It was a once in a lifetime experience. Obviously with more and more series' being made, it's changing, but with our lot, it was raw emotion and genuine love."

ITV declined to comment on her remarks.

Olivia appeared on the third series of Love Island in 2018, with her taking part alongside the likes of Amber Davies, 25, and Kem Cetinay, 26 - who won that same series.

Olivia and Chris - who are no longer together - made it all the way to the final alongside Amber and Kem. They placed third behind Camilla Thurlow, 33, and Jamie Jewitt, 32.

The latest series of Love Island - which is the eighth instalment in the reboot of the show - is now well underway and has already seen plenty of drama within the villa.

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 and ITV Hub from 9pm. Episodes are available the following morning through BritBox. You can also catch up through ITV Hub.
