Ole Miss Fans Storm Field After Winning Shootout for the Ages Against LSU

After 1,343 yards of total offense and 104 combined points, No. 20 Ole Miss emerged victorious by a final score of 55–49 over visiting No. 13 LSU on Saturday night in Oxford.

Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart bounced back after a tough start against Alabama last Saturday to throw for 389 yards and four touchdowns, including a 13-yard strike to Tre Harris with 39 seconds left to give Ole Miss the lead for good.

After the Rebels were successful on a two-point conversion to take the lead, LSU marched down the field quickly. However, Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels was unable to find an open receiver in the end zone from the Ole Miss 26-yard line as time expired—and the Rebels fans stormed the field in emphatic fashion amid the upset victory.

For Ole Miss, this was a much-needed win after a brutal showing a week ago in Tuscaloosa. For LSU, it’s the second loss of the season, which is sure to put the Tigers out of College Football Playoff contention, barring late season insanity.

The Rebels host Arkansas next Saturday, while the Tigers travel to Columbia to take on Missouri.
