It's starting to get darker and colder, which also means it's the time of year to enjoy fireworks dancing in the sky and the smell of burning bonfires.
Although bonfire night falls on Saturday, November 5, this year you can expect to start seeing the celebrations begin from people's gardens during the run-up to the occasion.
This year Oldham council is one of the few hosting an event in the borough - unlike some other Greater Manchester councils including Manchester, Trafford, Oldham and Bury, who are not providing a council display in 2022. There is also an abundance of independently-run events being held.

Bonfire Night is celebrated every year in commemoration of the failed gunpowder plot which sought to blow up the House of Lords and King James I in 1605.
The plot was famously initiated by Guy Fawkes, which is why some people refer to the holiday as Guy Fawkes Night.
Here is a breakdown of confirmed displays taking place across Oldham. Let us know if you would like one included by emailing newsdesk@men-news.co.uk.
