The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) recently announced the 2023/24 timetable for new cost of living payments aimed at helping millions of households across the country mitigate soaring inflation and ever-increasing energy bills.

The payments are made up of £900 for people on an eligible means-tested benefit, £300 for pensioner households and £150 for people on disability benefits, including the devolved Adult and Child Disability Payments in Scotland.
The £900 payments are being made in three instalments with the first for £301 due to be made to those on eligible benefits in the Spring No specific dates have been announced or a qualifying period which means people of State Pension age may be entitled to the extra cash if they make a new claim for Pension Credit - sooner, rather than later.
