Royal fans have been left seeing double after a photo of the Duke of Cambridge has resurfaced showing him sporting a rare beard in 2008.
Prince William is regularly compared to his children Prince George and Princess Charlotte in terms of looks, and even Queen Victoria 's husband Prince Albert - but it turns out the future king has more lookalikes.
After seeing the resurfaced photo of Wills - who usually appears clean shaven - fans were quick to point out the remarkable likeness between the duke and two of his historic ancestors.
MyLondon reports that Prince William first debuted his beard in 2008 when he walked with his family to the Christmas morning church service in Sandringham.
Although it was never confirmed why the prince had opted to grow his facial hair, many believe it was an attempt to disguise his identity during an SBS mission before he entered the RAF.
This theory was backed up by the fact his father Prince Charles also grew a beard when he went on Naval exercises in Alaska in 1975.
After the photo recently appeared on Twitter, fans were quick to compare William to his great-great grandfather, King George V.
"WOW King George V Related for sure," alongside a picture of the former monarch in his Naval uniform.

Another agreed: "The resemblance is uncanny," while a third added: "George V vibes in a good way, of course."
Meanwhile, a fourth added: "They really are the spitting image in these photos."
While the post was inundated with similar comments about the likeness between the duke and the Queen's grandfather, others suggested that there was another former king that Prince William looked like.
Other royal fans suggested that Prince William looked more like his great-great-great grandfather, King Edward VII - specifically when he was much younger as the Prince of Wales in the 1860s/1870s.
"Somewhat reminiscent of his great-great- great grandfather, Edward VII," one fan wrote, while another suggested: "More Edward VII (1870's) or his brother Prince Alfred than George V."
A third added: "Wow - he looks so much like King Edward VII and the last Russian Tsar with that beard!"
