Old CoD is more than a distant memory as over 5 million people try Black Ops 2 on PS5 within a week

To no one’s surprise, people are very keen on living through their memories of a much better Call of Duty, with over five million people hopping onto its PlayStation 5 revival. Black Ops 1 also saw some two million folks play it over the course of its first week on modern consoles.

According to MysticRyan, who spoke on Spawncast’s Click R3 podcast, over 5.25 million people played Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on the PlayStation 5 during its first week of availability on the console. This old gem was ported to both PS4 and PS5 after spending 14 years stuck on other consoles and PC, falling into relative obscurity but never leaving the collective memory of all the millions who loved it back when it launched in 2012.
