Ola Jordan has defended her husband James after he sparked controversy last year by admitting that he finds his wife more attractive when she is 'skinnier'.
After Ola gained weight following the birth of her first child, and after the Covid pandemic took a toll, her husband James, 45, admitted that he prefers Ola when she is 'three-stone lighter'.
Naturally, the remark caused widespread outrage, with Strictly Come Dancing stars labelling James as 'misogynistic' - however, Ola insists that it's the wake up call that both of them needed to alter their unhealthy lifestyles.
Back in August, James sparked fury when he said: "Sex is definitely not better with the mum and dad bods, I can't throw her about any more like I am used to doing.
"I will say I prefer Ola smaller. Of course, I still love her and fancy her," he added.
Despite the backlash, James has stood by his opinion, insisting that he is 'only being honest'.
Addressing the controversy months later, the former Strictly professional clapped back: "Hang on one second, you're not allowed to be honest today in this world.
"There's no man, let me tell you ladies out there, there's no man in the world who will say, 'Oh no, I much prefer my wife being much bigger and heavier'. There's no man, they don't exist."
The professional dancer went on: "They might tell you, 'Oh you look lovely darling' but would they prefer you slimmer? Yes they would. That's just a fact, I'm just telling you that every single man 100 per cent feels that way."
Defending her husband's comments this week after the pair shed over six stone together after overhauling their lifestyle, Ola said the comments were taken 'the wrong way'.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, the mum-of-one shared: "The comments were taken in the wrong way. After I posted the picture, a lot of people said there was nothing wrong with how I looked and that I seemed happy. I wasn’t.
"I was fed up with putting the same old stretchy dress on when we were on holiday and James could tell I wasn’t happy."
Meanwhile, James said: "People chose to be offended by it on Ola’s behalf, which I find bizarre. Do I prefer my wife being healthier? Yes, I do. Does anyone want their wife to be miserable? No. Ola is so much happier now she feels herself again.
"It’s about being healthier and happier. Part of the driving force behind us doing this was because we went to the IVF clinic and they said it’d be a lot easier to conceive if we’re healthier.
"We were told we were nearing the obese side and it was the wake-up call we needed," he added.
It comes after Ola revealed that she dropped a whopping three dress sizes in just four months in a bid to completely overhaul her lifestyle.
The former Strictly Come Dancing professional, 40, went from a size 14 to a size eight in just four months after discovering that her health was at risk due to her weight.
