If you rely on your phone for everything from navigation to your daily paycheck, you know that a network outage can be a massive disruption of your life. That is exactly what thousands of T-Mobile customers experienced on July 27, when a massive service failure left people stranded, confused, and scrambling to get back online. According to USA Today, service dropped around 4:00 PM ET that day, leaving users across the country in SOS mode.
One TikToker, Kara (karabobearah), was an Oklahoma customer who faced the outage. She recorded her experience during the day and shared it on TikTok. While her video recorded her attempts to connect with customer service through someone else’s phone, she explained in the caption that the outage was a much bigger deal. Kara claimed, “This completely put an end to my work day…Was in a diff part of town than I normally am, no maps, no way to call anyone, nothing!”
