During Saturday’s post-practice presser, Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault gave injury updates for Josh Giddey and Aaron Wiggins. Giddey has missed the last four games dealing with hip soreness while Wiggins has missed the last two games dealing with an ankle sprain.
Daigneault said that Giddey — who won Rookie of the Month for February — will be looked at again in about two weeks to see how he’s feeling and hopes that the rookie guard can return before the season ends next month.
“We’re trying to balance development but also being cautious and being wise,” said Daigneault. “We’ll learn a lot more in a couple weeks here. See how he responds with the treatment he’s getting now.”
Daigneault said that Wiggins returned to practice on Saturday and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Utah Jazz.
The shorthanded Thunder are also without Lu Dort, Kenrich Williams, Mike Muscala, Derrick Favors, Ty Jerome and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.
