Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault noted during Thursday’s post-practice presser that Derrick Favors — who has been out since essentially the All-Star break sans one game due to lower back soreness — will not return for the remainder of the regular season and that Kenrich Williams — who has been out since before the All-Star break due to a knee sprain — is doubtful to return for the remainder of the regular season.
With just six games left in the season, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to rush either back as both are older players who are developed for the most part. The Thunder will finish out the season by playing exclusively young talent that had extensive G League minutes earlier this season.
