The Oklahoma City Thunder announced a series of coaching moves on Friday and shuffled head coach Mark Daigneault’s staff as the 2022-23 regular season nears.
The Thunder’s G League affiliate OKC Blue head coach Grant Gibbs and Thunder assistant coach Kam Woods essentially swapped roles.
Gibbs — who spent the last three seasons as the Blue coach — will now join the Thunder coaching staff as an assistant while Woods — who coached the Thunder Summer League team this past summer — will now become the new Blue coach.
The Thunder also officially announced Chip Engelland as an assistant coach. Engelland was signed away from the San Antonio Spurs this past summer and is regarded as one of the best shooting coaches in the league.
The 2022-23 Thunder coaching staff will be led by Daigneault with his assistants being Engelland, Gibbs, Dave Bliss, Mike Wilks, David Akinyooye, Eric Maynor and Connor Johnson.
