Ojas scripts history with golden treble, Nagpur's bullseye knight is India's pride

Nagpur's Ojas Pravin Deotale etched his name in India's sporting history along with Jyothi Surekha Vennam of Vijayawada, by scoring a rare golden hat-trick at Hangzhou Asian Games on Saturday. No other Indian archer ever has scored a treble of gold medals in Asian Games. The 21-year-old ace archer, who became India's first individual world champion in August, is also the city's first Asian Games medalist in the 72-year multisport events' history.

After winning the mixed team gold, Ojas lifted the men's team title before underlining his supremacy in the individual event of Compound archery when he defeated his role model Abhishek Verma in an all-India final. Ojas was near flawless in the final and dropped just one-point to defeat his 34-year-old Abhishek 149-147.
