The price of oil hurtled towards the $120 barrier on Monday before falling back to $90 on Wednesday, as hopes grow that the war in Iran may not be a prolonged one.
However, fresh overnight attacks on tankers off Iraq saw the price surge once more, briefly past $100, while on Thursday morning it has settled at $95 - more than a third (35 per cent) up since before the first strikes landed, something which promises a big impact on people’s finances.
