European stock markets opened lower on Thursday as rising oil prices fuelled inflation concerns. Investors assessed minutes from the US Federal Reserve’s September meeting, released on Wednesday, and awaited those from the European Central Bank.
Asian shares also fell after Wall Street’s S&P 500 and Nasdaq retreated from record highs.
