Oil prices slipped on Wednesday after climbing for three straight sessions, as investors closely tracked developments around the fragile ceasefire in the Iran war and awaited a high-stakes summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.
Both benchmarks have mostly traded around or above the $100-per-barrel level since the U.S. and Israel launched attacks on Iran at the end of February, prompting Tehran to effectively shut the Strait of Hormuz.
