It was announced today that Ohio State will face Maryland in Columbus with a kick-off time of 3:30 p.m. ET. It was also announced that game will air on the Peacock Network.
For you old-school types, Peacock isn’t your father’s NBC. It is a streaming service connected with NBC. While many of the shows and content on Peacock is free … Ohio State football games won’t be. You’ll need a Peacock subscription in order to see premium content like this. NBC has to find some way to pay for the rights to show Big Ten games.
Peacock subscriptions start at just $5.99 per month and you can cancel at any time, but it stings a little knowing that our Buckeyes will be on a pay-per-view basis for some games.

As of this writing, all other OSU football games have been picked up by Fox, NBC, CBS, and the Big Ten Network. One could argue that we’ve been part of a pay-per-view plan since the inception of BTN.
As of now, Peacock does offer a trial period, so theoretically one could sign up for the trial and then cancel, but that will only work for so long. Looks like you’ll either have to bite the bullet and sign up or find a friend who already has a subscription.
Welcome to the new world of college football.
