The Ohio State softball team has been knocked out of the Big Ten tournament in a tight semifinal matchup, with a 2-1 loss to Nebraska. It was one that could have gone either way.
In fact, the Buckeyes got the scoring started first in the top of the fourth inning with a Meggie Otte triple that got one run across the plate. Nebraska answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the fourth, however, as things remained tight in a pitcher’s duel.
Lexie Handley again pitched a gem, striking out six and allowing just the two runs. Unfortunately, Ohio State couldn’t scratch across enough runs to make it hold up, and when Nebraska got a one-out run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning the story was written.
