Ohio State has seen another player enter the transfer portal. This time it will be safety Jayden Bonsu. Bonsu is a former 3-star recruit hailing from the state of New Jersey. Bonsu came to Columbus in 2023 rated as the No. 39 safety in the class according to 247Sports.
Jim Knowles had high hopes for Bonsu, but he would redshirt his freshman year and due to injuries stayed with the second unit in the spring. Freshman Jaylen McClain passed him on the depth chart for playing time this fall.
Bonsu could see the writing on the wall with a deep group coming back at the Safety position including Caleb Downs, Malik Hartford, McClain, Keenan Nelson Jr, and LeRoy Roker. The Buckeyes also have Faheem Delane the No. 3 rated safety in 247Sports composite rankings along with four-star recruit DeShawn Stewart.

Bonsu becomes the seventh Buckeye to enter the transfer portal joining Devin Brown, Kojo Antwi, Gabe Powers, Jayden Ballard, Miles Walker, and Air Noland.
