Although Ohio State football currently has the country’s top 2025 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings, it still wants a few more elite players to join the group.
The biggest remaining target, both literally and figuratively, is North Carolina offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. The 6-foot, 6-inch and 290-pound mauler is the nation’s No. 2 overall prospect and top ranked tackle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Sanders took multiple official visits during May and June, including one to Columbus. That trip clearly went well for him as he has now set his commitment date, on August 17th. He will choose from his four finalists: Nebraska, Tennessee, Georgia and Ohio State.

Sanders is arguably the most important recruit of the cycle for the Buckeyes, as they haven’t had the best luck recruiting elite tackles for the past few classes.
It’s hard to say where he is leaning to, as the only 247Sports Crystal Ball pick for Sanders is to Clemson, who is not one of the schools that he will choose from.
