The Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off their most impressive win of the season on the road against the No. 3-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions, coming out on top 20-13 after starting down 10-0 in the first quarter.
The Buckeyes, who were the 4th-ranked team in the country coming into the weekend, could just to even No. 2.
While there’s always a chance they lose, the Buckeyes have opened up as a ginormous favorite at home against the Purdue Boilermakers next Saturday. Ohio State is a 38.5-point favorite with the opening total at 52.5 per FanDuel Sportsbook. This total assumes around a 45-7 win for the Buckeyes.
DraftKings opens Purdue as a 38.5-point underdog at Ohio State. If the Boilermakers have ever been a bigger underdog, I’m unaware of it.

Purdue has had a discouraging season. It has yet to win on the road and has yet to win in Big Ten play, sitting last in the conference. It is coming off a 26-20 overtime loss to Northwestern and had another overtime loss against Illinois earlier in the season, so it has been able to keep games close at least.
As for Ohio State, it beat Penn State 20-13 and dominated on both sides of the trends Saturday. However, at home, it has shown some weakness, beating Nebraska by four despite closing as more than a 20-point favorite.
Nonetheless, the Buckeyes have opened as a strong favorite against Purdue in their fourth-to-last conference game.
