Ohio State football has already played in two primetime match-ups this season with the first coming against the Western Michigan Broncos and the second last week against the Michigan State Spartans. Both games were blowouts in favor of the Buckeyes, so maybe the newest scheduling announcement is a good thing.
It was announced that Ohio State will be playing the Oregon Ducks at 7:30 p.m. ET for a juggernaut matchup on NBC. The Buckeyes play the Iowa Hawkeyes this Saturday, while Oregon takes on Michigan State this Friday, so expectations are that the two heavyweights will be undefeated and both ranked in the top five when they faceoff on October 12. The Ducks currently sit at No. 6 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, while Ohio State is ranked No. 3.
With the College Football Playoff expanded to 12 teams, rankings have become less important, but a win in Autzen Stadium against a talented team like Oregon will do wonders to this team’s confidence.
