Ohio State football came away from Happy Valley with an impressive win over the Penn State Nittany Lions, 20-13, and star defensive back, Davison Igbinosun was a big reason why. After accumulating four tackles, one pass break-up and of course a highlight reel worth interception, the transfer for Ole Miss was named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week, which is decided on by the Football Writers Association of America.
Igbinosun was also Pro Football Focus‘ highest graded Buckeye from last week with a grade of 78, which is his highest of the season. He really shines in the tackling department as his 88.1 tackling grade is the highest on the team. He has had a fairly up and down season, but hopefully the impressive outing against Penn State is a sign of bigger things to come.
Most scouts viewed him as an early round selection due to his ideal frame and physical playing style, but a few more performances like he had against last week and Igbinosun could hear his name called on night one of the draft.
