They say that the best want to compete with the best and that gives Ohio State a distinct advantage over competitors regarding secondary recruiting.
If a defensive back wants to go against the best wide receivers in the country, it’s hard to argue that Columbus isn’t the place for them. Multiple first round NFL draft selections over the past few years and the ones that weren’t, i.e. Terry McLaurin, have blossomed into stars.
Offensive coordinator Brian Hartline is churning out elite wide receiver talent and enticing defensive backs to come compete against the best. Buckeye wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith is using that tactic as well, as he retweeted a post regarding Ohio cornerback Bryce West making return visit to Michigan after his official.
Brian Hartline pulled @Devin2416 aside after camp Tuesday with a simple message: no school will provide the 2025 5-star CB better reps than Ohio State.

There were rumors of a visit by West back to Ann Arbor would happen prior to his official to Columbus this weekend, but it turns out that won’t happen and Smith insinuates that West might be joining him.

This visit is big for West and another top in-state cornerback target Aaron Scott. If the Buckeyes hit a home run with both of them, we could see the top remaining Ohio targets verbal to Ohio State.
