The Ohio State football basketball team has overachieved thus far this season, at least in the minds of the national media. The Buckeyes have started out the season 6-1 and have a win over a ranked Alabama team and won the Emerald Coast Classic. It’s only loss was against another ranked SEC team, Texas A&M, but even that was a good showing.
Now the Buckeyes step into conference for the first time to take on Minnesota at home to show that the start to the season hasn’t been a fluke. The Golden Gophers aren’t expected to contend in the Big Ten this year but have also had a decent start to the season with a 5-2 start.
How will it go, and how can you find the game after watching the sad tale of the Ohio State football team being left out of the College Football Playoff.

Player to Watch from both sides
Ohio State
Jamison Battle, Forward – You know Battle is going to be ready for this. He transferred after starring at Minnesota and now goes against players and coaches he knows well. He’ll need to keep his emotions in check and not try to do too much in this one and be the guy he’s been so far. Will he be even more dialed in than other games?
2023 stats
12.4 points per game, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists
Minnesota
Dawson Garcia, Florida – Minnesota’s forward has been the biggest difference maker for the Gophers so far this year. He leads the team in points, rebounds, and minutes, and is shooting almost 50% from the field. The OSU defense will need to limit his touches and make everyone else around him beat the Buckeyes.
2023 stats
18.3 points per game, 7.7 rebounds, 2.6 assist
