It is still a long way until the 2028 basketball class can sign with any team, but that doesn’t mean Ohio State basketball is waiting around to offer a prospect it believes will be a great fit.
That happened on Tuesday afternoon, as the Buckeyes offered in-state guard, Kameron Mercer. The Cincinnati native now holds three offers (Cincinnati and Xavier) at this extremely early stage of his recruitment. More will surely be on the way for the 6-foot, 5-inch and 175-pound incoming high school freshman.
Mercer is already considered one of the best prospects in his class, if not the best.
After a great conversation with head coach @JakeDiebler I'm blessed to receive my 3rd full division one offer from the University of Ohio State. pic.twitter.com/4Cby72N6ly

The focus on retaining Ohio’s best prospects has been at the forefront of Ohio State’s recruiting for new head coach Jake Diebler, and this early offer to Mercer is more proof of that.
