There are not many must-get recruits that Ohio State Football needs, but the recruitment of Florida 2024 safety Zaquan Patterson is as close at it gets.
The 6-foot, 185-pound defender is the last high-level prospect the Buckeyes have on their recruiting board at the position. The misses this cycle were significant, losing on KJ Bolden to Florida State, Petyon Woodyard to Alabama and Jordon Johnson-Rubell to Texas.
Patterson moved to the top of Ohio State’s list after those misses, so getting the No. 3 safety and 77th overall recruit on the 247Sports composite, is extremely important.
Although current commit Garrett Stover is listed as a safety, he might not end up playing there when he arrives in Columbus. That’s just another reason why getting Patterson would be significant.
BREAKING: 4-star DB Zaquan Patterson has set his commitment date for August 26.
He'll choose between five schools: #Miami, #Auburn, #FloridaState, #OhioState and #Michigan.

We’d all love to see Patterson roaming the Buckeye backfield in the near future.
