Ohio Sen. JD Vance, a relative newcomer to politics, was selected as former President Donald Trump's running mate after just over a year in the Senate. Vance, a former venture capitalist, was elected to the Senate in 2022 and brings ties to Silicon Valley to the GOP presidential ticket.
