Ohio Sen. JD Vance recently commended Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson for his assistance in responding to Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. Vance praised Robinson's efforts in helping the community during the natural disaster, describing it as admirable and appreciable.
However, when questioned about the Trump campaign's current endorsement of Robinson, Vance did not provide a direct answer. This comes as Robinson's popularity has reportedly declined in recent polls.
During an event in Wilmington, North Carolina, Vance emphasized that the decision of who becomes the next governor lies in the hands of the North Carolina voters. He stated that his primary focus is on persuading the people to elect Donald Trump as their next president.
Following Hurricane Helene, Robinson made claims regarding the ownership of aircraft involved in relief missions, stating that most were privately owned. These statements contradicted information provided by the North Carolina National Guard.
Reports have also surfaced regarding Robinson's past comments on a porn forum over a decade ago. The comments included controversial remarks such as identifying as a 'black NAZI,' advocating for the reinstatement of slavery, and expressing a preference for transgender pornography. Robinson has denied that these posts were made by him and has taken legal action against the source of the allegations.
