An armed 38-year-old Ohio man has been booked into the Mahoning County Jail on two counts of assault and one count of disorderly conduct after pushing through a crowd toward physician Amy Acton at the Canfield Fair, knocking two people to the ground. Acton, a doctor and Ohio's former state health director, was not injured and remained on-site to attend to one of the people who was hurt.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol, which provides Acton a protective detail because she is a candidate for governor, identified the man as Patrick Havas of Canfield. Troopers said he was carrying a Taser and two pistols. The Mahoning County Sheriff's Office said two handguns and a set of brass knuckles were recovered after the arrest, and that "no weapons were ever brandished or even removed from their holsters."
