Ohio Governor Mike DeWine vetoed a portion of a bill that state lawmakers claimed would protect medical free speech but that DeWine argued would severely limit the state's ability to regulate misconduct. The vetoed provision aimed to prevent health professionals from being disciplined for expressing medical opinions that differ from official health authorities.
DeWine also allowed a provision in the bill that permits law enforcement agencies to charge up to $75 per hour for police body camera footage, despite objections from open government groups.
